From humble beginnings, a one room school house containing eight grades and one teacher, no electricity or phone service, Earl Archer rose to be Valedictorian of his high school class at age 16. After attending college, he enlisted in the Army Air Corp and then flight training at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. His stellar military career has been spent on both foreign and American soil. Major General James Hildreth, USAF (Ret.) succinctly describes all that has been said about General Archer’s accomplishments and character. “Throughout his military career, Earl Archer stood head and shoulders above his peers as a pilot, officer and superior leader, not only as an Air Force officer but as a man, a husband, a father, and a friend.” “I cannot think of a superlative to describe character like courage, honesty, loyalty, determined, steadfast, intelligent, capable, compassionate, faithful and put them in the mind and body of a modest and unassuming person, and that is Earl Archer.”
